Send announcements to specific groups

Send an announcement to only the guest groups who need it, like the wedding party or out-of-town guests. Group announcements are on Signature.

Last updated

To send an announcement to only some guests, choose Specific groups under Send to when you create it, then pick the groups. Sending to specific groups is available on Signature, where you can create guest groups.

Send to one or more groups

  1. Make sure your groups are set up and have members. See Create and use guest groups.
  2. Go to Messages > Announcements and select New announcement.
  3. Write your Message.
  4. Under Send to, choose Specific groups.
  5. Pick one or more Groups.
  6. Check the number of guests who will receive it.
  7. Choose Send now, Schedule, or Save as draft under When, and finish.

If a guest is in more than one of the groups you picked, they only get the message once.

Group announcements count toward your included announcements the same way as announcements to everyone.

When to use a group announcement

Use groups when a message only matters to some guests. Everyone else gets fewer texts, and the ones they do get are more likely to be read.

  • Wedding party: "Hair and makeup starts at 10 in the bridal suite."
  • Out-of-town guests: "The airport shuttle leaves terminal B every 30 minutes from noon."
  • Rehearsal dinner guests: "Dinner is at 7 at Rosa's on Main Street. Parking is behind the building."
  • Family: "Family photos are right after the ceremony, by the fountain."

Who receives it

Only guests in the groups you picked who have a phone number on your guest list and haven't opted out of texts. Before sending, check the count in the announcement form, and add any missing phone numbers in Guests > All guests.

On Free or Essential

On Essential, announcements go to everyone. The Specific groups option shows as available on Signature. Free events don't include announcements. To upgrade, see Plans and billing.
